Mr Shakir Hussain is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Birmingham, one of the UK's leading specialist orthopaedic centres. He specialises in complex primary and revision lower limb arthroplasty, hip resurfacing, and robotic-assisted joint replacement surgery.

His training includes prestigious fellowships at the Nottingham Elective Orthopaedic Centre, the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital with Mr Ronan Treacy, and the Bristol Lower Limb Arthroplasty Fellowship. He was awarded the British Hip Society Travelling Fellowship to the ENDO-Klinik Hamburg, Germany.

He is one of the highest-volume hip and knee surgeons in the country (NCIP), certified across three robotic platforms: MAKO, ROSA, and CORI. He was the first surgeon at ROH to perform day-case total hip and knee replacement. Mr Hussain sees private patients at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Priory Hospital Edgbaston, and Harborne Hospital (HCA Healthcare), all in Birmingham.
